The programmable automation controller (PAC), part number 5069-L320ERS2, is a Compact GuardLogix controller from Allen-Bradley. It is part of the CompactLogix 5380 product family, which is a modern, enhanced PAC device. This controller family is designed to meet modern industrial safety, control, connectivity, and integration needs. It meets SIL 2 safety ratings and uses a 1oo2 architecture.
The controller has two built-in Ethernet interfaces that can communicate with existing or new Ethernet networks in linear, star, and ring topologies. These ports can operate in Dual IP Node mode, with each port assigned a unique IP address, or in Linear/DLR mode, with both ports sharing the same IP address and acting as an integrated switch. These ports support transmission speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbps. In addition, the controller is equipped with a USB port that can be used to perform all types of communications and functions except industrial connectivity. The USB port supports communication speeds of up to 12 Mbps. The 5069-L320ERS2 is a compact GuardLogix controller with 2 MB of user memory dedicated to standard functions and 1 MB of safety memory for safety functions. It also supports up to 32 tasks, with 31 tasks for standard functions and the remaining 1 task dedicated to safety functions. Regardless of the task type, each task can handle up to 1000 programs and utilize all event triggers available to the controller.
